Alistair Overeem

Alistair Cees Overeem is a Dutch mixed martial artist and kickboxer. He is a former Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion, DREAM Heavyweight Champion, K1 World Grand Prix Champion, and is one of onlyfighters to hold world titles in both MMA and K1 kickboxing at the same time. As ofMay 2016, he isin official UFC heavyweight rankings. He holds notable victories overformer UFC champions Andrei Arlovski , Fabrcio Werdum , Frank Mir , Brock Lesnar , Junior dos Santos , and Vitor Belfort .

Overeem was born in Liverpool, England to a Jamaican father and a Dutch mother. When he was six years old, his parents divorced and he moved with his mother and older brother to The Netherlands where he was raised. As a child, Overeem competed in judo, track and field and basketball. At the age of 15, Overeems older brother Valentijn took him to Chris Dolmans MMA gym to train.
